Telescopic rails for emergency & service vehicles

When the crew arrives, every second of access counts. VT telescopic rails bring pumps, generators, hydraulic tools and racking out of the locker to the crew — fully extended, at full load, in any weather, for the life of the vehicle.

Where telescopic rails work in vehicle equipment

Typical mounting points across the industry — each one a sized, catalogued VT configuration.

Equipment trays & boards

Full-extension trays present pumps, tools and cases at working height outside the locker.

bolt

Generator & aggregate slides

Heavy-duty sets carry generators and hydraulic power packs — serviced in place, fully extended.

shelves

Van racking & drawers

Slim slides run drawer systems in service vans without stealing cargo width.

swap_vert

Vertical pull-outs

Tall racking panels for hose, cable or first-aid equipment ride on paired vertical rails.

Municipal & defense vehicles

Slide-out battery boxes, radio racks and workbenches in special-purpose vehicles.

roofing

Roof & underfloor boxes

Two-way slides give access to lockers reachable from either side of the vehicle.

What the application demands

The engineering constraints that drive series selection — and how the VT range answers them.

vibration

Permanent vibration & shock

Rails on a vehicle live on a shaker table. VT-P's two-part construction is designed for intensive cycling, shock load and crash-test duty; preloaded executions eliminate rattle.

rainy

Weather & road salt

Open lockers see spray, salt and de-icing chemicals. Standard ISO 2081 zinc can be upgraded to zinc-nickel, nickel or E-coat; stainless balls and marine greases are available.

accessibility

Ergonomic one-hand access

A tray with 100 kg of equipment must come out with one hand in gloves. Ball-cage running keeps pull-out force low and constant — no stick-slip at the worst moment.

Recommended VT series

Start with these families; the configurator weighs your exact load, stroke and length against the whole range.

Technical fit

Range-wide execution options relevant to this industry.

Working speed
≤ 0.8 m/s (derates with length) · max accel 1.2 m/s²
Surface coatings
Zinc per ISO 2081 (standard) · zinc-nickel · nickel · E-coat on request
Lubrication
Medium lithium grease; re-lube every 100 km or 6 months. FDA, cleanroom, marine & temperature greases on request.
Load basis
Telescopic series per pair of rails · VT-L per carriage

Frequently asked questions

Are the slides suitable for crash-relevant installations?expand_more

VT-P is explicitly designed for intensive cycling, shock loads and crash-test duty. For installations that must retain equipment in a collision, we support verification against your restraint concept and supply preloaded, zero-rattle executions.

How is corrosion resistance ensured on fire and municipal vehicles?expand_more

Standard finish is zinc per ISO 2081; zinc-nickel, nickel and E-coat are available on request, plus stainless balls and marine-grade greases — specified simply as a suffix in the part number.

Can a tray be operated from both sides of the vehicle?expand_more

Yes — VT-S two-way (S2) and VT-P with the stop screw removed travel in both directions, so one tray can serve lockers opened from either side.

What load can a single equipment tray carry?expand_more

Telescopic capacities are quoted per pair of rails and reach well into four figures of kilograms depending on series, size and extension. VT-H heavy sets are configured individually — tell us the payload and locker dimensions and we return a sized set.
